Hotel Cap Polonio

The room was clean and comfortable, the facilities were well kept, and there was always someone at the front desk to answer questions or help. My main hotel complaint was breakfast. I think hard boiled eggs were the only protein; otherwise there were breads, sweet pastries, and fruit. The coffee was very good, but I believe the juices were watered down from concentrate. The café sells prepared sandwiches and salads that looked well made, but they cost twice what I’d be willing to pay. I think they’d sell more if prices came down. The noise outside was hard to take. People revved motorcycles and cars late at night just to make noise, so I had to sleep with the windows closed. The hotel can’t control that, but the town should set and enforce quiet hours to improve things for residents and visitors alike. When I come back to Ushuaia next year, I may look for somewhere quieter, though I might stay here again too.

The staff were very friendly, and the location was great. Our room was refreshed regularly. Breakfast was good, and so were the empanadas and sandwiches ready to take away. I’d definitely come back.

I expected better and left deeply disappointed. The hotel is quick to bombard guests with rules about smoking and staining towels, along with warnings about fines and penalties. But when they damaged my portable kettle, all I got was a simple apology and no accountability. It feels unacceptable to enforce strict policies on guests while not taking responsibility for their own mistakes. The rooms are small, and there was noise too.
