Hotel Atlantik

Julio, the owner or employee, was very friendly and easygoing, and despite the rest of it we did have a good time. But my wife and I went to Hotel Atlantik for vacation and the place left a lot to be desired. The bathroom and room hygiene was disgusting. Everything was dirty, and we never smelled bleach in the bathroom. The beds were old and hard. The food was passable, though for what we paid we couldn't expect much. I wouldn't recommend it.

Julio was a kind, friendly host, and the staff serving us were lovely too. We had a great time there with my little boy. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a big window, good ventilation, air conditioning, a fan, and a TV. The shower always had plenty of hot water. The food felt home-cooked and there was plenty of it. We didn't use the pool, but it was clean and other guests seemed to enjoy it. On our last day there was a farewell show and free pizza. Everything was really, really nice.

The location isn't right by the city center, but a taxi to the Cuckoo Clock is around $70. I'd definitely come back. I stayed with my daughters and the service was outstanding, with all the staff friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and breakfast looked just like it does in the hotel photos. The pool was beautiful. Our room was simple but comfortable, and the bathroom was fine, kind of like grandma's.

Cleanliness is essential, whatever the price, and the state of this place felt disrespectful to guests. The bathroom was filthy and poorly maintained, with leaks at the toilet and bidet, and no mop. Furniture was dirty and web-covered; sheets, towels, and bath towels were stained. The beds were broken, and the floor would've been more comfortable. The food was disappointing, clearly reheated from who-knows-when. The owner's unfunny jokes and quick attempts to gain your trust made the mediocre service even worse. They charge extra for air conditioning and claim it's close to everything, though it's more than 10 blocks from the city center. People say it's “okay” for the price, but only if this is a 0.1 or -10 star hotel. Avoid it if you can.
