For what it costs, it’s okay, but the room was a disaster. There were ants in the bathroom, no way to dry it, and all the outlets were grouped in one spot. The Wi-Fi was awful, the inflatable shown in the photo wasn’t there, and there was no assigned parking. At night, teenagers were acting like they were at home even though it’s a hotel. We left one night early.

The rooms are a bit cramped, and we felt squeezed in. Still, it’s a quiet, child-friendly hotel with a pool and play area to keep kids occupied. Reception service was excellent, everything was very clean, breakfast was delicious, and it’s near the city center.

The location was very good, about a 30-minute walk from the bus terminal and 10 minutes from the Morondanga cuckoo clock. The free water park offered when booking at the hotel was quite nice, and it really helped during the hot days with little water. The site makes it seem like it’s on the hotel grounds, though. It’s actually a 10-minute drive or a 40-minute walk away. A few comments about the bathrooms and pool cleanliness there, too. The service earns two stars from me because the cleaning staff kept everything spotless and were very friendly, and Ana Paula, the afternoon receptionist, was pleasant throughout our stay. The rest was disappointing. We booked through Booking.com, but the photos made the pool and rooms look bigger and newer than they were. The pool was small, faded, and dirty, with cigarette butts and grime around it. At night, one stray light barely illuminated anything, so the pool area wasn’t usable. Our triple room’s so-called double bed was two singles pushed together under a sheet that kept coming apart while we slept. The bathroom design made showering flood the floor, and all they offered was a floor dryer for us to use ourselves. The windows and doors were poorly maintained, and the walls had stains. They advertised Wi-Fi and air conditioning, but neither worked in most rooms. Wi-Fi was only available in common areas, and even there it was very weak. We arrived during a water outage caused by the previous day’s storm. I don’t blame the hotel for the outage, but they should have warned us and the guests who came after. For two of our three days, we had to rush through showers and carry buckets of pool water to our room just to flush the toilet. By mid-summer the pool was only half full and filthy. Breakfast was very poor, with undercooked croissants and coffee that was almost burnt. They only offered water from a dispenser, so there wasn’t even a way to enjoy a hot mate peacefully beside the dirty pool.

They charge far too much for what you get, and I wouldn’t recommend it at all. We paid for two nights but couldn’t even stay through the first one. The place was dirty, and the rooms were very basic and smelled bad. It shouldn’t be a three-star hotel. They advertise a grill, but there are no utensils, dishes, or anything else to use with it, and the grill itself is disgusting. You’re not allowed to store two buckets of ice, yet there’s no fridge or anything similar in the room. The area around the pool and grills is bafflingly dark after 8 p.m.
