I stayed over Holy Week with my friend Diego, and we were really happy with Betty’s kindness and excellent service. She’s attentive to every detail and makes you feel welcome in her home. The house rules help keep everyone safe, and guests are free to use the facilities. The price and quality are a sure thing, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. I recommend it without a doubt. We were lucky to leave early and get half our money back. I wouldn’t recommend this place or return, unless I were 60 years old. The whole stay felt extremely restrictive. One rainy day they woke us by banging loudly on the door to clean the room, and we weren’t allowed to refuse. There was no mini-fridge in the room or refrigerator in the common area, so getting a cold drink after 9 or 10 pm meant waiting until reception opened in the morning. If you wanted something cold to eat or drink after 1 pm, you also had to wait for reception to reopen because the owner takes a nap and nobody else was available. Smoking wasn’t allowed in the rooms either. For over a thousand pesos a day, the room had an old 14-inch TV. At that price, charged in dollars, any hotel should at least have a decent-sized screen, even if it’s an older model. The “double” bed was tiny, made of old wood, and had an incredibly thin, uncomfortable mattress. They should invest in new mattresses if they’re charging that much.
