Hotel Albatros

The beach is around four blocks away, and the hotel was so peaceful that we slept really comfortably. Breakfast was delicious and very fresh, and the dining room felt cozy, with a huge window looking out to sea. We loved the tidy patio, too, with lounge chairs and garden chairs to relax in. My husband and I came for our honeymoon on a package to Gesell and were assigned room number 8. It was lovely and super clean, with a TV, fan, wardrobe, and a cool temperature. The shower had great pressure, and the large window gave us a luxurious sea view and beautiful sunsets. Service was 10/10. Paul, Paula, and Martin were attentive and kind and made us feel at home, as did the woman serving breakfast in the morning. Our only constructive criticism is that it was a little tedious having to leave the key whenever we went out and ask for it again when we came back. I understand it may be for security, which is perfectly respectable. They didn't change the sheets or towels during our six-day stay, though perhaps they could have changed them at least once. We brought our own towels from home, so we were fine, but maybe they could check that too. We'd definitely return if we get the chance. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the service.

The best part was the staff, all fantastic, super friendly and helpful, 100,000/10! The dining room has a beautiful view of the ocean, and there's a lovely patio with trees and chairs for drinking mate. The rooms are nice, standard in size, with a fan and TV, and the shower has good pressure. The mattress was the one thing I didn't like; after six days we left with back pain. My room was cleaned only twice during those six days, and my towel was changed once, after I asked. Breakfast is limited and needs improvement, just coffee with milk, tea, yerba mate, and two croissants.

Breakfast was a disaster. The claim about orange juice is false. I asked the morning maid for some for my son, and she rudely said the hotel doesn't do that. The fresh croissants were the only redeeming feature. I stayed from January 18th to 23rd, and the service was terrible from the start. I was first to arrive, and the morning concierge assigned room 14, then asked us to come back at 2 PM to check in so they could clean the rooms. When we returned, Ms. Paula from the afternoon shift said the room had been given to another family. She tried to sort it out, first offering a single room with three separate beds, even though we're a couple with a child and had requested a double bed when booking. Next she offered a room with a broken toilet tank and a bucket to dispose of waste. Then she offered one with a broken lock, so the door would be unlocked if we left. Eventually she found us a ground-floor room. During the stay, the sheets were never changed, and the ones put on the bed were just stretched out, not properly made. Towels weren't changed either, and were even left hanging on the shower curtain rod. Toilet paper, shampoo, and soap were never replenished, so we had to get them from the kitchen. They never swept, and there was more sand than at the beach. Not recommended!

A very bad hotel, with bathrooms in very poor condition and leaking water, plus fans that don't work. Check-in was terribly disorganized, and rooms had no sheets. They didn't change sheets or towels during the stay.
