Costa Serena Aparts & Spa

We had a lovely apartment, cozy and full of nice details, with a kitchen and hot tub. The indoor pool and jacuzzi look out onto the best views. Chef Fernando deserves a big congratulations, the food was the best we had on our whole trip to Barichole and Villa La Angostura. The Wi-Fi connection wasn’t great, but being surrounded by peaceful woods made it easy to connect with nature.

The lake water is extra cold, so it’s only for the brave, but the landscape is marvelous. The hotel itself was very good, with a great room and a perfect location, plus a private beach, pool, and jacuzzi.

The price was $200 USD a night, so charging extra for scrambled eggs at breakfast felt excessive. Breakfast was otherwise fairly complete, and the receptionist was very polite, though she seemed to be the hotel's only employee, which surprised me for this category of place. The loft is only reached by stairs, so it isn't suitable for people with reduced mobility. The bathtub had someone else's hair in it, and the indoor lounge chairs by the pool were dirty too. The pool view is nice, but the private beach was nothing special, with much nicer public beaches nearby. It felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star one, and the pool was the only thing that set it apart. The stay wasn't bad, but it fell well short of what I expected, and I wouldn't return for that price.

Jesica and Carolina at reception, along with Miguel from maintenance, were always attentive to what we needed. The staff's attention was truly admirable and made our stay very enjoyable.
