We stayed one night after arriving a couple of hours before check-in. We told them we weren’t in a rush since we were enjoying the common area and having coffee at the bar. Then they called to say the room was ready. When I went to the bathroom, the toilet was dirty as if someone had just used it without flushing. It looked and smelled disgusting. I complained, but instead of apologizing, they said, “well you wanted to check in earlier.” I didn’t argue with the receptionist because she clearly had a strong point of view. They sent the cleaners back, and we stayed the night. We also asked to change rooms because ours was next to the lobby, where the receptionist and hotel staff were laughing and making noise in the middle of the night. They did move us, which was the least we expected after the bathroom incident, especially since no one ever apologized for how gross it was. I’ve stayed here three times. The lake views and location are breathtaking, but at this price I’d expect air conditioning in every room, a premium breakfast, and spotless bathrooms. Breakfast used to be decent a few years ago, with fresh-squeezed orange juice, several kinds of cut fruit, and different milks available. Now it’s below average. Fresh orange juice costs extra, and lactose-free milk isn’t set out unless you ask. The fruit wasn’t fresh either, and I had to ask several times whether there was anything else. It’s a shame to see a hotel in such a privileged location let standards slip without training the staff. I hope they take this seriously and don’t respond passive-aggressively. We won’t stay again, and I strongly advise you not to either. There are other places in a similar price range that I’m sure are better.

The view was spectacular, and the warm pool was the best. It made my wife's dream come true. Loved it, and we’ll be back.

The rooms were so tiny, with no air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi barely worked. Staff didn’t listen to our complaints and gave unhelpful answers that seemed made up on the spot. For what we paid, we’d have been better off buying a tent. I usually don’t write reviews, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. Definitely stay away, you don’t get what you pay for.

The hotel has beautiful views and some distinctive architecture, but parts of the building, especially the exterior, need an update. The biggest problem for me was a nearby alarm that went off repeatedly through the night, once or twice an hour for about five minutes each time. With no ventilation or AC, the room got very warm in summer. Opening both the outside door and the hallway door was the only way to cool it down, but that cost us privacy. I don’t know whether the alarm belongs to the hotel or another building, but management should get it fixed or have the owner deal with it. It’s disturbing guests. I didn’t come all the way to the Angostura to wake up to nuisance alarms all night.
