We came to the Goodrooms Aparthotel for one night, planning to get up early for the sled slopes. During the night, all of us came down with the flu and were too sick to go. We thought we’d rest until noon, check out and continue to our next destination. At 11:20am, the owner called, very angry, saying we were supposed to leave by 10 am. I apologized repeatedly and explained that we’d gotten sick overnight, then said we’d pack up and leave right away. Fifteen minutes later, we went to the car and found him waiting there. He was still extremely angry, repeating “this is very bad.” I kept apologizing and trying to explain that I thought checkout was at noon and that we were very sick. He stuck a post it note with 40 € scribbled on it to our car window. My husband asked why he hadn’t called us at 10 if we were meant to be out by then. The owner became belligerent, screaming, cursing and spitting at us. Our son started vomiting in the parking lot. The owner lit another cigarette and walked away. When I looked up, he pointed at my son and circled his finger around his forehead, as if to say he wasn’t right. I told my husband to pay because I wasn’t sure whether we were in the wrong and just wanted to leave peacefully. After my husband and child got in the car, I went over to the owner and politely said I hoped he’d enjoy reading the reviews I was going to write on social media. His eyes got very big, and he gave back the extra money we’d paid him. I wrestled with whether to post this, but my gut told me it was the right thing to do. Throughout the incident I had a horrible feeling about this man. I tried to stay calm and get us out of there because I didn’t feel safe.

Too expensive, and too far away. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in winter.

We were very disappointed by how filthy the bathroom was. The toilet seat had urine stains, there were food crumbs on the kitchen floor and in the refrigerator, a nursing pad was under the bed, and dust was everywhere. We contacted management and were told they’d handle it, but they did nothing and lied to us. The staff were disrespectful. I can’t recommend this place.

The apartment was nicely equipped and would have been a lovely place for a weekend, except the floor was dusty and our interactions with the caretaker/owner made the stay deeply uncomfortable. He was curt from the moment we arrived, and several conversations during the day left us unsure how he’d respond next. On departure morning we asked if we could stay until noon, two hours beyond our booking. He became very emotional and told us to leave by 10:00. After we’d packed, he kept ringing the bell, then said noon would be fine if we gave him a good review and a small tip. Just before noon we loaded the car and gave him €20 as thanks. He pocketed it without a word, then insulted us, saying we were unfriendly, didn’t know how to behave, that “such young girls are an outrage,” and that we asked pointless questions. We’d had a bad feeling about him from the beginning. Not knowing how the argument might escalate or what he’d do next, we got in the car and left. Self check-in and check-out would have made a big difference. Because of his unpredictable and unpleasant manner, we can’t recommend “good rooms.”

The owner’s kindness was my favorite part. He even looks just like Jack Black, haha. I had a wonderful stay, and his hospitality made it feel especially nice. Of all the places I stayed during my Europe trip, this was one of the cleanest and most spacious, and I was completely satisfied.
