The garden was a lovely oasis in the city centre, with lots of different plants, and I felt properly rested after a full day walking. We picked the budget option, room 17 on the top floor, and it was a pleasant surprise: clean and spacious, with two beds, a bathtub, a shower, and even two balconies. Downstairs there's a nice self-catering dining area, coffee machines, tea, cocoa, milk and other options, plus a fridge. I'd gladly come back if I'm in Bad Ischl again.

They cancelled my booking on the day I was due to check in, so I had to change my itinerary. I lost about £80 on transportation and didn't even get an apology.

The owner was really friendly and nice, and this could be a good midpoint stop if you're heading to hallstatt. The location is close to the train station, though with huge luggage you should know there's a steep slope up to the hotel. The room was a bit old, but acceptable for the price and location. Sound insulation isn't good, either. I could hear people snoring in another room at night.

The place has its own kind of magic. The rooms are cozy, and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's really well located, close to the train station and about a 5-minute walk from the centre. I'll definitely come back :)
