Gasthof Erhardt

We visited on September 2nd, 2020, and felt at home straight away. The homemade food was fresh and very good, and the pear strudel with vanilla sauce and plum ice cream was an excellent dessert. There were four of us, plus our dog, who was welcome too. The Behofsics and Leitenbauer families, including their dog Lisa.

I stayed at the Gasthof Erhardt for eight weeks in total, four in 2019 and another four in 2020, and worked my way through the whole menu. I’m not sure my palate managed to say hello to every dish twice! From soup through dessert, the food was a real culinary treat, simply delicious. I can’t find words for how good the meals were or how warmly I was treated. The rooms are a little older, but they’re clean and perfectly adequate, with cleaning included every day. A big thank you to the Erhardt family for such a lovely time. You almost feel at home with them. I’ll definitely be back next year!

The owner was really kind and helped us whenever we needed something. Since there were hardly any other guests in the house at the time, it was very peaceful, and the secluded location made it quiet too. There’s a lovely garden and a nice view, while the Bad Waltersdorf thermal spa is only a five-minute drive away. We booked a weekend package from Saturday to Monday, over February 2nd, 2020, with two breakfasts and one thermal spa admission. The room and bathroom were a good size, and the balcony was spacious, although we couldn’t use it at that time of year. Breakfast had everything we wanted, and the owner even made extra soft-boiled or fried eggs. We felt very well looked after and enjoyed our stay. I’d recommend it.

The Cardinal Slice was divine, and the schnitzel with fries was the best we’ve had in ages. We also loved the soup, roast beef, and pork medallions, and the steak was huge. Everything was high quality, with quick, very good service. The restaurant has a cozy feel and a beautiful garden, and it’s friendly for dogs, families, and children. Thanks so much, we’ll be back. :)
