ibis Bregenz

Being able to walk to Lake Constance and the downtown shops and restaurants was a real plus. The hotel is pet-friendly, and the parking is very handy if you arrive by car. It costs €20 a night, which felt practical, though neither especially expensive nor especially good value. Breakfast was a highlight, with good coffee and a wide, solid selection, especially by ibis standards. The building and rooms feel dated and could use refurbishment. Thin, camping-style toppers over the regular mattresses made it hard to sleep well, and the old bathrooms and uncomfortable showers didn’t help. Service was uneven. Some staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, while others seemed disengaged. At breakfast, one staff member spent most of the time on her phone and only came out to clean occasionally. At checkout, the morning desk was unattended for a while while the staff member was outside smoking, and a queue formed. I was also disappointed to be charged for premium Wi-Fi as an Accor Live Limitless Diamond member, which didn’t feel in line with loyalty expectations. Convenient location, pet-friendly, and good parking, but the dated facilities, inconsistent service, and loyalty issue held the stay back.
