We chose this castle as a surprise for the kids at the end of our European trip, and it made for a fantastic last stop. We were fascinated to learn about its history, even though we hadn’t known much beforehand. The rooms were huge, with ornate wooden ceilings, heavy doors, and lots of interesting old furniture. Gaspar, the caretaker and breakfast host, was the highlight. He was attentive and explained all the food choices thoroughly, making us feel like personal guests in his home. He was the friendliest European we met on the trip. Getting there by public transport was a bit of a challenge: the walk from the train station is long, and the nearest bus stops running around 18:30. When we left, though, Gaspar even offered to drive us to Zell Am See station in his own car. Thanks for making this great for our family. I’d recommend Schloss Fischhorn to anyone!

The suites were great, and we had some of the best food and hospitality we’ve ever experienced. The views were awesome, and it’s well placed for exploring the Austrian Alps.

The room where we visited our friends was huge, easily big enough for a family of five. If you’re after a stay somewhere famous, this is a great spot with plenty of history to Google. Enjoy, Jeff.

The rooms are easy to get to, and the staff were lovely when we arrived. Very good accommodation.

We had everything we needed, and spending two nights in a castle was a fantastic experience. A nice castle hotel.
