Hotel Zum Verwalter Dornbirn

The food was so good my wife didn't leave a thing on her plate! We loved the delicious range of eye-catching dishes, and the service felt really warm and personal. It's a fantastic restaurant in an amazing setting. We'll definitely be back!

Dinner was the highlight. We chose the tapas menu, five delicious courses with matching wines. The wine list also has a huge choice of bottles, and the service was very friendly. Breakfast the next morning had a good variety and plenty of everything. The hotel and restaurant are in a very old house, with a charming mix of old furniture and modern touches like the restrooms. Our room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom, and each room has its own colour and style. There are a few drawbacks: the window only has light shades, so you can't properly darken the room, and you can hear a lot because of the building's age. The stairs to the rooms are narrow, and nobody asked if we needed help with our luggage.

Thomas looked after us, and he was worth more than five stars. I'm from the USA, where service matters a lot, and he went beyond what we expected. He was really friendly, made an extra effort to keep us happy, and his recommendations were always spot on. The restaurant had a unique, relaxed atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean and well looked after, and there were vegetarian options. We were also offered a complimentary dessert at the end, which made us happy. It would be a lovely place to surprise someone for Valentine's Day, even though it's not celebrated much in Vorarlberg.

I was on my own on a Saturday night, but the great staff never made me feel awkward or ignored. The room was very nice and fully renovated, and breakfast was excellent. Wonderful hotel. If I travel through the area again, I'll stay here.
