Gaby was an amazing host, and our room was cozy and very clean, with beds that were so comfortable we asked where she bought them. She happily gave us all the info. Dinner was very good, but the dessert was amazing. The pictures show the view from our balcony and the desserts.

We loved having the garlic soup at the restaurant, and breakfast was fantastic too. The spa has three saunas, cool showers, and a quiet spot where you can read and unwind. Gabi and her family made us feel at home from the beginning. We stayed almost a week, and the hotel is handy for getting to Ruette on foot or by bus, with transport to nearby towns as well. I’d happily recommend Hotel Maximilian and hope to come back.

Nearly 20 years on, we still talk about how much we enjoyed our brief stay, especially the wonderful breakfast and dinners. We arrived in the off-season and were welcomed like family. A real hidden gem.

The restaurant and bar felt comfortable, and though we only ate breakfast, both the food and service were great. It’s a useful base for exploring the area or just an overnight stop on a longer trip. The rooms are spacious by European standards, and the proprietors are lovely and knowledgeable. A classic family-run Swiss hotel, and well located.

A family-run, traditional Austrian place with nice rooms, amenities, and staff. It’s friendly for children, and breakfast was wonderful.
