Gästehaus Cafe Strudel Michel

The location suited us perfectly, right by the Hartkaiserbahn cable car, so we could head straight up the mountain. From the café of the Gästehaus Strudel-Michel, there's a magnificent view of the Wilder Kaiser. And the early morning view of the Kaiser Mountains from the balcony is priceless. Our room had a solid pine double bed, a sofa, a table and chair, and a small bathroom. It wasn't especially large, but was perfectly adequate for a guesthouse. The balcony had a garden table, two chairs, and an ashtray. Service was attentive and very friendly. They emptied the bin and made the beds every day, and aired the room well, so it was always clean. The food was always excellent, with generous portions, and special requests were happily handled whenever possible. Breakfast was a real treat, with fresh bread and rolls, about 7-10 kinds of muesli and cornflakes, at least three homemade jams, plenty of ham, sausage, and cheese, plus fresh orange juice, coffee, and tea. The egg choice alternated each day between fresh scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. There was a huge selection. The hosts are two lovely, kind-hearted people who do everything they can to make sure guests have a proper holiday. There's a strong family feel, and everyone is welcomed warmly, whether they're traveling with family or friends, as a couple, or alone. For relaxing, there's a sauna and heated cabin, along with a spacious rest room and shower. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Sepp and Margarete really look after their guests. The menu is fixed, but there are lovely dishes to look forward to, prepared with care and changing every day.

A cozy place to unwind, with good food and a lovely atmosphere. It's a hidden gem for coffee and all sorts of strudel. P.S. The service is Franconian, so Franconian holidaymakers should definitely stop by!
