Gasthof Plasch

We only ate at the restaurant, so I can't comment on the rooms. Even in the intense heat, the staff were friendly and quick, and the food came out hot. The Most was properly cold, too. The jungschwein schnitzel was good, though I expected it to be more tender, so next time I'd probably get the turkey schnitzel. The breading was perfect, but the fries weren't very crisp outside and didn't taste much like potato. Summer is tough for a review when the staff are working so hard in extreme conditions. We'll come back when it's less busy.

I spent four nights in velden and ate here three times. Lovely food and lovely staff, and the hot meal arrived just minutes after ordering. For velden, the price is genuinely fair. I'd check it out.

During our Drau Radweg bike tour, we stayed one night at Gasthof Platsch, right beside the bike route. It's peaceful, with lovely surroundings, and the rooms are elegant, clean, and well equipped. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and plentiful. The staff were very helpful. Herr Plasch, the manager, even spent hours that evening trying to get our exchanged luggage back.

The meal was good and the waiter was nice. At first, we were confused when they asked who we were and what we wanted, but fortunately we got seated and the service was good.
