Grosslehen

Beautiful rooms, delightful staff, superb food and excellent facilities. The hotel was quiet and extremely clean, with no tricks or gimmicks. An exemplary small hotel in every respect.

We spent a week in a Chalet at Grosslehen, and everything was top notch: the decor, rain shower, sauna, and the quality and cleanliness of the building. The family friendly staff were fantastic, so we’re not sure how the hotel can have only 4 stars. There’s a free shuttle to and from the Piste, and you should have dinner at the family run restaurant at least once. A must stay!

We had a great time overall. The hotel has a nice view, good breakfast and good food in a stylish restaurant. It’s very good for kids, with a big playground, though some parts are old and broken. There are also animals, an outdoor Naturpool that’s good on hot days, a small fitness room with a nice view and mini golf. The mattress was good, and some evenings had live music. Our Apartment had no fridge, which seems odd in a 4 star Hotel. There were so many sideboards that felt pretty useless, since the hotel website said the Apartment should have a kitchen. The Apartment’s bathroom was new, but others were old, as if only half the renovation had been done. The sleeping room floor was carpeted. There are no outside window rollers, so you or your kids may wake up early. We stayed three nights, and on the second day the cleaning lady didn’t clean the floor. Restaurant service was hit or miss. Sometimes food didn’t come to the table at the same time. Some of the young waitresses didn’t seem to know how to hand glasses to guests; one had no smile and messed up the bills. Some of the older waitresses, though, were very friendly and did a good job. I ordered a Hugo at the bar, but she forgot to put Holunderblütensirup and Prosecco in the glass, which is no go! At checkout, the front desk lady never asked how our stay was. It seemed like she didn’t care at all. If the service improves, maybe we’ll come back.

We only tried the minigolf with the kids, but there are also some nice holiday apartments for rent on the property.
