Strandhotel Faak

I often stay here when work brings me to the area, and the friendly, helpful staff are always there when needed. The hotel is beside the beautiful Faak am See, surrounded by lovely nature and clear water. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and each has access to the hotel's private beach and its own sun loungers. Breakfast is varied and excellent, and there's a very good restaurant next door serving different tasty meals each day. It's a lovely choice for a romantic break or a relaxing family holiday. I've got nothing but praise.

By the lake, the restaurant has a great spot, friendly service, and decent food at a good middle ground between quality and price. It's not fancy, but perfectly fine. What lets the place down for me are the plastic flowers on the tables. They really spoil the look, and removing them would make a big difference. The toilets could also use some updating and styling. They're clean and fine to use, but look dated and don't fit the hotel's image. The hotel itself feels like a solid three stars. It was renovated years ago, and while still in good shape, it shows some age. The quiet lakeside setting, park, cleanliness, and location are all top notch, close to five-star territory. I'd give the hotel four stars and the restaurant three.

The staff are what make this hotel. It's right by the lake, and well placed for getting to Slovenia or the Italian Alps.

Clean rooms and friendly staff made our family weekend easy. We liked swimming and the water games, with enough shade on the nice beach, and the beach bar was handy. The restaurant food was tasty too. We'd definitely recommend this place.
