Hotel Unterberghof

The staff were kind and very friendly, and the location was fine. I slept well in my room every night. It was just perfect.

Service and location were both very good, and the room was clean. But the beds were really uncomfortable, there were someone else’s panties in the closet, and the bathroom bin had a hole in it. The food was the biggest letdown. Breakfast was average, with bread and pastries that felt like frozen products, no local homemade farmer products, and vegetables that weren’t fresh. Dinner was average too, with soups and sauces that often tasted instant and vegetables from a frozen pack. The desserts were often a poor attempt by the chef. The crème brûlée was pudding with cinnamon on top. Really, in a 4-star hotel? I don’t think this hotel can officially deserve a 4-star rating. Maybe it did 20-30 years ago. The cheap, poor food and uncomfortable beds disappointed me most.

The pool was really nice, and the rooms were clean and pleasant. The food was good and typical of the region. In winter the location is good, though it’s a bit outside the center in summer. The pillows were very uncomfortable. Staff tried to help, but their English was weak and communication was sometimes difficult.

We had some lovely summer days here. The hotel is nice and child-friendly, with a heated pool that was clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and we got a good all-inclusive stay through an agency. There’s loads to do in the area in summer.
