Mein Freiraum

I left with a really bad feeling about our stay. We arrived on 24.07.2023 for a week, and the small freezers meant I asked the owner to store our meat. On the first day, there was trouble with the hot water. The owner said two hours later that it had been fixed, but it was the same again the next day. We realized the boiler was too small for our family. The heated towel racks didn’t work, and there was no way to control the apartment’s heating. Laundry cost €20 for one load and came back after 24 hours still very wet and wrinkled. After we had agreed on the price, the landlady added another €10 for drying. She also wouldn’t turn on the heating in the ski room so we could dry our shoes. When the children played in the sandbox on Saturday, I turned on the water to rinse some sand off their feet and the path. Within a minute, the owners rushed over and shut it off. We felt watched throughout the stay. They kept passing by our yard and looking closely at us. On the last day, I sent my son to get the meat for packing in our cooler, but he returned empty-handed. The landlady told my wife she would only return our frozen meat after we paid. I was shocked that she was holding our property as security for payment. I went to her house angrily and told her she had nothing to worry about, she would get everything she was owed. She still refused to hand it over. A few minutes later she came downstairs, took our keys, and made us leave the apartment. Then she called the police. While we waited, I photographed the apartment with her there to show we hadn’t caused damage and avoid any later complaints. She confirmed everything was in order and that she had no complaints. We had cleaned it very thoroughly, perhaps more than when we arrived, because that’s how we usually leave places. We’re very clean and careful people. She didn’t like me taking a photo while we were outside waiting for the police, and physically attacked me as my wife and children cried. She hit my hand, knocking my phone down and damaging it. The video shows what happened. The police came but did nothing and wouldn’t take our complaint against the owner. They told us to pay her and told her to return our frozen meat. The whole experience was horrible. The landlady seemed focused purely on money, repeatedly asking for payment over even the smallest thing, so we gave up asking her for anything. The atmosphere toward us was very unfriendly, especially toward our children. I’d never want to experience this place again. It was the worst experience of my life in 40 years. I regret choosing it and putting my family through this. Goodbye, and I hope never to see you again.

At Mein Freiraum, the apartment had many broken things, and the owner seemed interested only in getting more and more money. We felt they were watching us and peeking inside. Their manner toward us was very rude and unpleasant. I travel all over the world, and I’ve never been this disappointed.

Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and there was a big living and dining area. The apartment was nicely equipped and in a lovely spot, fairly central. The ski bus leaves right outside, and you can walk to the lift if you prefer. We came as a group of four women and would happily stay again.
