We were welcomed warmly with a drink, and the castle itself is gorgeous. The staff were very kind. Still, it felt like the place was winding down, with its best employees already hired by other estates and a skeleton crew of summer temps left to manage. There’s not much to do on site. Nobody explained where the restaurant or cafe was, or gave us information about dinner, breakfast, or aqualux. When we asked about our included dinner, staff checked with reception and said we hadn’t paid. We had to show the email proving we had, which was awkward for everyone. After dinner we tried to get a drink at the bar. A small group was sitting in a corner with drinks, but there was no bartender. We waited 15 minutes, then left.

The receptionists were lovely and always ready to help. This is a charming spot for a couple of days, and the two very young women with long blonde ponytails who worked over the New Year holidays deserve a big compliment. They did a great job and were both friendly and professional.

The old Schloss has been reimagined beautifully, and the design throughout the building and rooms is impressive. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and couldn't have chosen a better place. Every person on the service team deserves a special thank you for their excellent care. We also loved the exquisite food, with good taste and quality throughout, and the delicious anniversary cake was a lovely finish. We'll be back!

The setting is amazing, and breakfast was outstanding. The room was small but very nice, and good value for the price. There wasn't a huge choice of dishes at dinner, but what we had was excellent. Housekeeping came to clean at 8:30 a.m. and woke us up.

The Schloss has a wonderful atmosphere, and my room was quiet and perfectly equipped. I was glad there was a minibar, since I'd forgotten to buy drinks on the way. At check-in they asked whether there was anything I didn't eat, and changed the fish starter to carpaccio. Everything was delicious. I only stayed one night, arriving at 7 p.m. and leaving at 8 a.m., but it was a great stay.
