The apartments are warm, cozy and clean, with beautiful mountain views. There are cable cars in several directions nearby, so there’s plenty of choice for skiing. We came to go sledding and that worked out perfectly, with a nice ski and sledding run about a 20-minute drive away. I’m sure the Austrian Alps and all the hiking trails are even more beautiful in summer. One winter arrival tip: winter tires on their own aren’t enough here, snow chains are essential. The road is steep and very slippery, and at first we couldn’t get up to the accommodation. The hostess and her family were wonderful and helped us get there. They spread stones over the snow, several people pushed the car, and we made it up to the house and parked on our third attempt. Many thanks to them. We’ll definitely bring snow chains next time, especially since there are signs along the road about them.
