Alpenhotel Tirol

The summer walking tours were stunning, and the place itself is beautiful. What made the hotel for me, though, was the staff. Everyone was excellent, especially the Greek waitress whose name I can't pronounce, Thomas the waiter, and Amber, who led the walks. They were friendly and helpful, and those three felt more like friends than just professional staff. Dinner, afternoon tea, and breakfast were all superb, with varied, high-quality food. Peter has done an absolutely superb job building a great team and making the hotel exceptional.

I paid a little extra for a balcony room, and the views were lovely. The bathroom was a bit dated, but very clean and well maintained. The hotel is up a small hill, which is kept in good condition in colder weather, though of course the weather can't always be controlled. I paid a small fee to store my boots and ski gear at the purpose-built Sport Walter facility nearby, so I didn't have to carry everything up the hill. The hotel's own ski storage was also well kept and easy to use. The hotel was impeccably clean, and both the owners and staff were incredibly attentive. We had half board, with a varied evening menu all week, including traditional dishes with a modern twist. Breakfast was ample, with plenty of choice. I've just come home from a wonderful stay at Alpenhotel Tirol, and I'm already looking at returning in 2024. I'd highly recommend it.

We're a family of six, from age three to nearly 70, and are having a really good stay. The owners go out of their way to help, and all the staff have been exceptional. It's lovely seeing familiar faces from last year again, especially Toni, Dami, and Thomas, our granddaughter's favourite.

The food was excellent and the staff were really helpful, which is why I'd give it five stars. It's a nice family-run hotel in a quiet spot, just a short drive from Ischgl. The hotel could use some refurbishment, and the steep driveway to the main entrance feels dangerous and should be fixed.
