Hotel HAAS

We stayed for three nights as a family of four. The old-fashioned family room had two separate bedrooms, one for the children and one for us. Our room was fine, but the children’s room had three beds and no closet, so there was nowhere to put their things or clothes. The toilet was very spacious, though the shower cabin was tiny, about 70 x 70, the smallest I’ve ever seen. Breakfast was very poor, with the same food every day and very few choices. Dinner had good soup options, but the salad and main meal were bad. The pizza was awful. We also had to pay for drinks on our last day that we don’t think we’d had. It snowed all day that day, but the parking lot hadn’t even been cleared by the time we left in the morning. The owner was very kind to us, but for the price we paid, I expected more.

The room was clean, though there wasn't enough wardrobe space. Breakfast was limited, and without a toaster the only thing you could prepare was cold toast. The coffee machine didn't make good coffee either. Most of the staff were fine, apart from one very unpleasant waitress. The stay was decent overall, but pay for drinks at the bar when you get them instead of adding them to your room bill. The checkout quantities might surprise you.

The hotel was spotless, and the staff were kind and helpful throughout. Breakfast was lovely, and each morning we got suggestions for where to go depending on the weather. There's also a free shuttle to the ski resorts. We used the sauna and were surprised with fruit and a jug of soda water with lemon and mint. Everything was perfect, and we're here for one more night. The country skiing path right in front of the hotel is beautifully maintained, and a free shuttle gets you close to several ski slopes. The setting is magical, with spotless, quaint rooms and a traditional Austrian feel. The staff were wonderful, and so were the food and service. An absolute treasure.
