We had a big room on an upper floor and the hotel itself was very beautiful, with a nice location. We stayed four nights. But there are a lot of things that need improving, and Bad Gastein has many other possibilities, so think again before booking here. Breakfast ran only until 10 am, even on weekends, which was inconvenient if you didn't want to get out of bed early. Dinner was poor: no buffet, and the portions were small. When we asked for Austrian food, we were told the food was mainly Swedish because the hotel is owned by a Swedish company. Check-out was at 10 am too, so getting up early to pack, have breakfast and be ready to leave was hard.

We stopped here during a cycling trip. At 1,060 metres up, the views are beautiful. The hotel is a little dated, though still tasteful and clean, and the beds felt a little soft. The front desk staff could have been friendlier. We ran into that a lot in Austria, so maybe it's a cultural thing.

We spent seven days here over Christmas and had a perfect holiday. The staff were amazing, and the hotel is beautiful and spacious. Our half-board meals were five courses each night, with different food every evening. The bar was great, and the rooms were cleaned daily by friendly cleaners who did an excellent job. The pool area has incredible mountain views and a real wow factor. The location worked perfectly for us: bars, restaurants, ski shops and the slopes were all within walking distance. The kids also got a lovely surprise when Father Christmas visited. He read out the names of the children staying at the hotel and gave each of them a present. We hadn't been told this was happening. Thanks to everyone at the hotel!

We came in early May, when many things in the city were closed. The breakfast was okay, and having the spa included was a nice bonus. It's a pleasant spot up on the hill with a view.

The bar was a lot of fun, especially with the live entertainment. I had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel, with interesting, varied food and excellent service.
