Landhaus Erlzette

The room and furnishings were fine, but the house seems extremely noisy. A day after we arrived, we got an email asking us to respect quiet hours. After that, we were careful to keep the noise down in our rooms each evening. No other guests complained, and nobody outside heard us, yet management contacted us every day, even before 9 p.m., saying we were partying. It felt like a way to keep the deposit afterward by referring to the terms and conditions. With these landlords, it was absolutely not a relaxing vacation.

The building has a wonderful valley view, which we enjoyed from the terrace beside it. We’ve now stayed in Landhaus (App. C) twice, mainly because we like its original rural character. Since our previous visit, the owners have put in firmer beds and quality mattresses, along with a few other small changes. The manager from the neighboring building Amalia came to greet us this time, and said he had also taken over management of this building. We highly recommend it.

They ultimately refused to return our deposit, claiming we had disturbed the peace. The arguments were completely baseless, ridiculous and criminal. We were a group, but all we did was sit together comfortably in the living room, talk normally, cook and eat. From the first evening, the operator emailed and called several times telling us not to have a “party.” The repeated calls felt like telephone terror, and he threatened from day one to call the police and evict us without compensation. The vacation was anything but relaxing. Trouble seems inevitable here, and their way of keeping the deposit feels perfidious. Never again!

The apartment is unfortunately very noisy, and while the food was very good, the overall experience was bad enough that even one star feels too generous. The location and apartment might have deserved more on their own. Management was very incompetent, with disastrous, unfriendly communication. Beware of what seemed like an attempted scam involving the deposit.
