The price and what you get feel very well matched at the Sportalm Hotel. Our room was spacious and had a balcony and a refrigerator. Half board meant plenty of excellent food, both in variety and quantity. The hotel’s location, wellness facilities, garage parking, regional bus travel, and two cable cars were included too.

The rooms are modest in size but big enough, and the wellness area is fancy-looking and well looked after. Dinner isn't a buffet and the choices are limited, but everything was well made, and the staff were flexible about specific requests. We were never left hungry. It's a simple, unfussy hotel, with relatively low prices and surprisingly high quality. The modern ski lift is about five minutes away and takes you to around 2,000 meters. Good value without fancy surroundings.

We spent four summer nights here and had great food and service. The ski lift is about a five-minute walk away, with several hikes to start from the top. Mountain bikes are available to rent at a shop two minutes from the hotel.

This family-run hotel in Gerlos makes a winter ski trip feel convenient, with ski-boot warmers for overnight and an underground garage. Prices felt fair, and the wooden interiors are comfortable. The staff are friendly, the food is fine dining, and the customer service is above average. After a long, cold day skiing, I often enjoyed the sauna, hot steam, other facilities, and an included afternoon snack. I'd recommend it for families. If you're after fast food or very bare-bones conditions, this probably isn't the place for you.
