Biohotel Stanglwirt

We were excited to stay at Stanglwirt because the family amenities looked wonderful, but after this booking experience, we won’t be going. We’ve stayed at many luxury resorts and have never felt so dismissed or treated as if we didn’t understand what we were doing. I requested four nights over Easter for two adults and our one-year-old. Stanglwirt sent an offer I was ready to accept, and the baby was included. The next day, I called to ask about payment and was told the reservation had to shift by a day because they were sold out. That was fine, though they asked us to confirm quickly since availability was limited. When I opened the revised offer, it was €300 more. They said the first offer hadn’t counted our baby, and that adding the baby meant another €300. I sent a screenshot of the original offer showing the baby was included. Since then, they’ve completely ghosted me, with no response, explanation, or effort to sort it out.

The spa has so much to offer, and the resort also gives you a complimentary bus pass for visiting attractions nearby. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever had. My wife and I had a fabulous honeymoon here, a truly one of a kind experience.

I loved the rooms, which were large, very clean and traditional with a modern touch. They even had a pillow menu so you could pick the pillow you wanted. All the staff were kind and helpful, and Emilo at the front desk went out of his way to answer our questions and make us feel welcome when we arrived. There’s so much to do here: indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, spas, relaxation areas, a water slide, gyms, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. You can also join daily activities like guided forest walks, fly fishing and the driving range. Some sheep graze behind the loungers at one of the outdoor pools, and you can see horses from the pretty lobby bar. The food was amazing. My favourite restaurant on the property was the Gasthof, with traditional tyrolean cuisine, lovely hospitality and a view of cows. Breakfast had loads of options, and you can eat outside looking at the Wilder Kaiser. This is the most beautiful, magical hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I can’t wait to come back!

The views from this hotel are amazing, and its design is great. Breakfast is super, and the spa works well for both adults and kids, with separate areas for each. We also really enjoyed the horse riding lessons. One of the best places in Austria.
