The bed was very hard, though the room itself was okay. There were no toiletries and definitely no breakfast. Checking in was difficult too: I couldn't understand the woman on the intercom when she explained how to get into our room.

I paid 220 euros for a two-night reservation and knew when booking that cancellations weren't refundable. I had to cancel because of an illness that kept me from travelling, though, and asked the hotel if they'd consider a partial refund as a force majeure situation. They refused, even though I could see the room had already been rebooked to someone else. It felt like they were earning twice from one room. Their communication was very unfriendly too. I can't comment on the rooms or location since I never stayed there, but the service and communication left me with such a negative impression that I'm giving one star. This didn't feel like Austrian hospitality, just a commercially run hotel. Sorry.
We were delayed on the highway for nearly four hours and let the host know we'd arrive late. Still, they said checking in after 8 PM wasn't possible, adding that “other guests managed to check in before 6 PM.” That felt dismissive and had nothing to do with our situation. We weren't offered even a partial refund for the inconvenience. I've booked through Booking.com for years and have never run into this kind of inflexibility or lack of understanding. It was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend staying here unless your travel plans are completely rigid.
We had to find an ATM and withdraw cash to pay the city tax because the employee was rude and wouldn't accept a card.
The bedroom frame and the balcony door or window were both broken, so there was no way to cool the room down. The shower had no pressure and no hot water, and the place was very poorly cleaned. Service wasn't any better, the woman seemed grumpy. You can only pay in cash, parking is extremely limited, and there were no toiletries, so bring your own shampoo and body wash. I'd save the 12 euros for breakfast and drive to Salzburg for better choices. I booked it as a cheap one-night stop on the way to Salzburg, but I wouldn't stay again. Maybe it depends how fussy you are about a room, but the village didn't appeal to us either. I'd choose somewhere else and pay a little more for a nicer stay.
