Motel One Graz

From Jakomini Place, it’s easy to reach public transport, shops, bars, restaurants, Graz old town, and the city center. The spacious lobby feels welcoming, and the staff are professional and friendly. Our room had modern furnishings, comfortable beds, and a clean bathroom. A perfect choice for a short stay in Graz!

I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Our visit to Motel One Graz from December 13th to 15th, 2025 was a complete failure, especially given what we paid. Breakfast was overcrowded and poorly planned. There were only a few proper tables, so many people had to use tiny lobby tables and sofas. Families and elderly guests couldn’t eat comfortably, and I had to eat on the floor. We also didn’t get the room type we paid for. One child was sixteen and counted as an adult, but one of the booked double rooms had only a single bed. That left three adults and a seven-year-old with just three sleeping places. When we asked to have the rooms next to each other, or at least on the same floor, the request was rejected abruptly and without courtesy. Check-in the previous evening had completely broken down because of a computer system outage. Guests waited for hours without clear information, couldn’t use the restrooms without room cards, and weren’t offered even water or coffee. By early evening, families were getting ready to sleep on lobby sofas. Staff seemed overwhelmed and powerless, and no one apologized at check-in, during the stay, or at checkout. The hotel clearly sells more rooms than its facilities and staff can handle. When occupancy is high, service collapses. That’s a management issue, not bad luck.

The room was clean, quiet, and well organized, and the lobby felt welcoming. Staff were friendly throughout our quick weekend stay at Motel One. The location was perfect, with lots of coffee shops nearby and the central bus station just a minute away. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Graz.

A good place for a downtown stay, though there’s no parking and it took a bit of figuring out at first. The room was comfortable, with a basic but nice design. Breakfast was just okay.
