The owners were warm, helpful, and happy to chat, and the accommodation itself was okay. It did need a much better clean, though, and the amenities felt very worn out. What upset me most was the animals' living conditions. I expected something different from an organic farm. The cows get outside into a sort of garden each day, but there's not much room, and there's no bedding in the barn. They stand in their own manure until it gets cleaned. The calves are taken from their mothers right after birth, though they can still hear them. It was heartbreaking. Each calf stays in a tiny pen and never gets out, living there until it's sold. The chickens also have little space and a badly maintained, bare-ground area. The animals here could and should be much more comfortable.

The farm is an easy place to unwind away from the city. The apartments have everything you need to cook for yourselves, and fresh milk, eggs, and potatoes are available right there. There are good restaurants and plenty for children to do nearby, with everything easy to reach by car. It's also a great base for hikes, and lots of lovely destinations are only a short drive away. We came back for a second family holiday and had another wonderful stay. The welcome is always so warm, the children can play in all sorts of ways, and they're even allowed to help in the barn. We'd be very happy to return next year.

The kids loved collecting eggs from the henhouse each morning, helping in the barn, and getting a ride on the tractor. We also went on a mushroom hike. It gave them a great look at farm life. Our apartment was lovely and clean, and there was a big garden and courtyard with a playground. The hosts were warm and helpful. We'd love to come back.

The Waldviertel countryside is beautiful, with plenty of ways to hike, cycle, or just take it easy. The family were friendly and accommodating, and pointed us toward interesting places to visit nearby. It's a well-kept organic farm, and the family activities gave us a good look at everyday farm life. A lovely fit for families with children.

There was always something new to see on the farm, and we were welcome to pitch in, even out in the fields. The family were friendly throughout and had lots of activities going on. Really nice place, highly recommend.
