Hotel - der FreiRaum

The service was really friendly, and the breakfast was excellent, though it adds about €19,5 per person to the bill if you book through a third party like booking.com. Booking direct might get you a better deal. The hotel rents e-bikes, and the area is great for cycling. It's modern and sits in an Agri/Industrial park, so it probably suits people doing business there best. It's not a bad option, but I'd rather stay in the village center.

We arrived late from the airport, and the hotel contacted us with a very simple self-service check-in option. Its location was ideal for our business trip, just outside the centre of Güssing, with free parking. The modern building is stylish and fitted out to a high standard. Breakfast had a nice omelette bar and good bread with homemade jam. Vegan choices were unfortunately limited. Some dairy-free spread, yoghurt, or milk would have made cereal and other options possible. The fruit and bread with jam were lovely, but I would've liked some protein too. The spa looks lovely, but it only opens during the day, which wasn't ideal for a business trip.

Breakfast was the highlight of our stay, a proper Burgenland breakfast with lots to choose from. The breads, meats, fruit, dairy, and everything else were locally made and sourced. Even if you're not staying overnight, come for breakfast! We were visiting friends nearby and stayed for a weekend night. There was a large wedding and the hotel was booked, but they still managed to fit us in. Despite being full, it was quiet, relaxing, clean, and friendly. Johannes in particular made us feel welcome and answered all our questions despite the language difference. We'll come back next time we're in the region.

A very nice hotel, and the breakfast is generous too. 👍
