The apartment was fantastic, with a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable bathroom, and an exceptional view. It’s about 50 steps from the center and Salzwelten Salzburg, and they offer a 2 euro discount for Salzwelten Salzburg. I’m surprised the place has low ratings because, for me, the hospitality, amenities, and location deserve five stars. It’s upstairs in a house owned by a wonderful family. Grandma and her daughter, Karola, live downstairs, and both were incredibly welcoming and often offered help. I borrowed an umbrella and then lost it, but they were kind about it and didn’t charge me.

The location was really convenient, with the busiest street in Hallstatt just across a small road. The bus stop where you get off is there too, and if you’re driving, you can park right in front of the house. Our four person room was upstairs, with a balcony and a lovely view of Lake Hallstatt across the little road. Grandma was super friendly and chatty. It was a bit cold at the end of October, but the heating came on after 21:30 and made the room comfortable. Construction was happening on the first floor when we arrived, and it woke us at 7:30 the next morning. Luckily, after we told the owner straight away, the noise stopped.

Having parking right at the property was fantastic. We especially appreciated it after seeing people haul their luggage through town to and from their cars. The location was brilliant, and the window view was pretty nice too.
