Haus Hll Herta

From the corner where Haus Höll Herta stands, you can watch the funicular travel up and down the hill. The hosts, Mr and Mrs. Herta, were very accommodating, and the comfortable, roomy space made us feel at ease. The kitchen was tidy and fully equipped, with drinkable tap water and a Nespresso machine to use. It’s a bit far from the boat station, though the nearby landmarks are close to one another. Most places to eat close early, so plan around that. We found one restaurant open until 10pm and a burger kiosk by the boat station. The grocery store is a 3-5 minute walk away.

We drove from Munich as a Taiwanese couple and spent two nights here. The host and hostess were kind and well known. Our accommodation had a bedroom, living room, and kitchen, and it was very comfortable. Having all the appliances made the kitchen especially convenient. We’d stay here again if we get the chance to return.

We felt at home in this clean, cozy room, and the mountain view from the bed was lovely. The host made us feel very welcome. The funicular for the salt mine is about a five-minute walk, while the ferry station takes around 15 minutes on foot. There’s a burger shop right across from the house and a supermarket about five minutes away. We really enjoyed our three nights in Hallstatt and would happily recommend the place.

We visited in February 2021, when it was snowing outside, but the room stayed perfectly warm. The people there were very welcoming, and the room was clean. Hot water was available all day, and I loved having a coffee machine.
