Apart Krone

The location is wrong.

The view from the balcony over the Zillertal valley is beautiful, and the owners were really friendly. We stayed in the larger apartment, which has plenty of room for up to six and was clean when we arrived. Some modernization has been done since it was converted from former single rooms, though a few finishing touches are still needed. There’s a ski boot dryer in the house, and parking right outside. Apart Krone sits above Hart im Zillertal, about five minutes by car from Fügen. From the photos and other details, it seems some older reviews were mistakenly attached to this property, which is a shame. We highly recommend it.

We’d happily recommend this lovely cabin and may come back, since there’s still plenty of the Zillertal valley we haven’t seen. The views are fantastic, the price was very reasonable, and the owner was friendly and genuinely keen to help with questions or needs. Driving the narrow mountain roads took some adjustment for us city dwellers, but after a few trips it felt easy enough. Our only deduction was for the small kitchen, which felt undersized for a family of four. We’d also have liked a range hood or an oven.

We left right away, and the landlord’s only response was, “You’ll find something else here in the Zillertal.” We did find a nice hotel, just as Ms. Widner rudely suggested, but an apology would have been more appropriate. We’re still waiting in vain for one. We’d booked through Traumferienwohnung, but on arrival we were shown a different apartment from the one in the listing. When we asked about it, we were told that the booked apartment was already taken and this was their second vacation rental. It seems only photos of this one apartment had been posted online. There was no apology. We were also expected to share the promised terrace and its great view with the other guests, preferably standing, since there weren’t enough seats. Inside, the apartment was very dark and smelled musty. Ms. Widner, that’s no way to treat guests. Please post photos of your second vacation rental online.
