We stopped for our usual Schnitzel lunch on a trip to Austria. The meal was very good, and service was quick and friendly. The cute old town made a nice setting. Since it’s Sturm wine season, I tried the delicious young red Schilcher. Give it a try!

The strawberry juice was really good. We also had lunch, with cordon bleu and pork schnitzel. We enjoyed the food, though it was a little pricey.

We had a lovely, cosy room with rustic details and everything we needed. There were several handy ways in, including from the parking area. The owner, part of the sixth generation of this family business dating back to 1860, greeted us and explained the private parking, even giving us a little map. Everyone was so friendly with our baby, and they brought him water at dinner. The food was unbelievable, especially the Wienerschnitzel, and we enjoyed the mains and desserts. Breakfast was great, and warming up food for our child was no trouble. The owner was easygoing and happy to help with requests. A quiet, wonderful little town too. We hope to see you again. We ended up spending four nights in Hartberg with our dog while the car was being repaired after an engine breakdown on the way south. Zum Brauhaus felt like a family home, thanks to the kind, helpful staff and really good service. Our room was clean and spacious, with a functional bathroom. Breakfast was freshly prepared each morning, with fruit, vegetables, cheese, cold meats, bread, yoghurt and different jams and mueslis. Coffee or tea came to the table, and eggs were made how we liked them. The location worked well for walks, with little shops and cafés nearby, and the restaurant was excellent too. Thank you for a great stay!

The restaurant has a fresh, modern look and pleasant decor. Portions were very generous, the food tasty, prices good, and service pleasant.
