Hotel Salzburg

The hotel is in a great spot, under 2-3 minutes on foot from the main ski lifts, SPAR, shops, restaurants, and pretty much everything in Hinterglemm. We had a deluxe suite, and it was huge, warm, and comfortable, with a lovely cosy feel and a beautiful view of Hinterglemm from the balcony. The sofa bed was comfortable, the rooms were clean and organized, and the bathrooms were tidy. The cleaners were quick. I liked the decor and the TV's HDMI port, which let me connect my Nintendo Switch 2. The little Tony Chocoloney (or however it's called) chocolate was a sweet touch. At about -9° outside, it felt instantly warm when we walked into the Salzburg Hotel. The reception area was comfortable, and the whole luxury hotel's atmosphere felt cosy and pleasant in this beautiful, cold winter town. The reception team, hotel workers, and cleaners were all kind and friendly. The town and its people were nice too. I've stayed at only two hotels in Hinterglemm, this one and the Adler Resort, and honestly I think the Salzburg Hotel is better in many ways, including comfort and atmosphere. The saunas were good, as were the large pool with its artificial waterfall and jacuzzi, the relaxation rooms, and the other wellness facilities. There was also direct access outside to the snow. The breakfast buffet was a bit smaller than I expected, though it had some good options. There's no breakfast menu except for eggs. The coffee was hot and nice, but a little bitter, and the croissants were tasty. The evening buffet was small too. The menu had tasty food and new desserts every day, though the dessert selection was limited and the buffet didn't really change from day to day. Some dishes did change each time, as with breakfast. The soups were VERY delicious, especially the beef soup, the best soup I've ever tried. Fish was a bit mediocre but edible, meat a little bitter but still good, and the tiramisu was delicious, though the portion size surprised me. Food and staff were excellent, and service was very quick. A couple of things could be improved: the balcony was very large, but there were no barriers between rooms. The hallway could use more lights because some spots were quite dark, and the stairs there are easy to trip on and fall down. I also wish there were a switch to turn off the automatic lights that come on when they detect movement. Thanks to Salzburg Hotel for such a great stay and experience in Hinterglemm!
