We really liked the lounge, where our group could spend time together. It gave the place more of a chalet feel. Breakfast was excellent too, with loads of muesli, good coffee, juices, cheese and more. The hotel was warm and comfortable, and there was always plenty of hot water. Its quiet spot outside town worked well for getting to the slopes, and we could ski in. Skiing out wasn't possible because we had to cross a car park. The spa was lovely and relaxing, especially the huge sauna with its fantastic views. Gerhard and Bodo did a great job looking after everyone when things were busy. There were some drawbacks. The rooms are small, so getting ready together in the morning was tricky, though manageable. The boot room is useful but also small, and mornings there turned into a bit of a traffic jam. Afternoon tea or cake wasn't freely available when we got back, unlike at other ski hotels I've stayed in, and there was no way to make tea or coffee in the rooms. The evening meals let us down, mainly because vegetarian options weren't reliably available. Some nights they made an effort, and I had a great vegetable strudel. Other nights there was no alternative, so I had to make do with side dishes. On New Year's Eve, for instance, everyone else had a meat buffet. That was disappointing and left us feeling the hotel wasn't good value for money.

The ski lift is just 50 meters away, and you can ski straight to it from the hotel entrance. Breakfast was wonderful, and we loved the spa, sauna and infrared facilities, plus the ski equipment storage room. The hotel dates back 40-50 years, so it's a historic place worth seeing.

The staff were really kind, and getting back to the hotel from the slope was easy. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was really good. The three-person room worked well for two of us.

Everyone was friendly, and Gerhard did his best. The hotel has a traditional feel and the lifts are an excellent location, just a short walk from town. Rooms were clean and nice, though a little small, with more wardrobe or storage space needed. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Dinner was very disappointing. There was lots of food and plenty of meat for the main course, but the cooking was bland and all the meat tasted much the same. It was very dry and could have used sauces suited to each meat. Tomato sauce with duck, for example, would have been a no. A kettle in the room would be useful for tea or coffee, but we brought our own, expecting there wouldn't be one.

Gerhard is a charming host, and this is a lovely hotel. We spent New Year 2025 here, enjoyed plentiful healthy food, and found breakfast outstanding. It's well placed for skiing, and we'd stay again. There wasn't tea or coffee in the room, and reaching other ski areas meant a short walk to the ski bus. Otherwise, it would have been all five stars.
