Appart Tirol

The stay was awful 😔. The room was on a busy street, so traffic noise made it uncomfortable. The blankets were old and need replacing, and there was a bad smell from both the dishwasher and the kitchen magazine. On arrival, reception was empty and the owner didn’t answer when we contacted them. I found my room key in a small open box on the desk. I expected the room to be ready as it would be at any European accommodation, but the receptionist, Karsina, didn’t show up until two hours later. She treated us very badly and said we should have called her when we arrived, even though we had a reservation.

We’ll definitely return. The apartment was modern, spotless, and worked perfectly for our group of six, with plenty of towels and other supplies. In Jochberg, we could easily walk to the supermarket and restaurants, and in winter the gondola and ski slopes are right next door.

The apartment itself is nice, well laid out, and in a lovely location, but I wouldn’t choose it for a ski trip. We couldn’t find any heating, and when we asked, the woman said there was no radiator, only underfloor heating in the bathroom. That apparently meant drying all our ski gear on the bathroom floor. The ski room was unheated and stank, and parking left a lot to be desired. Sleeping was miserable too. The sofa bed was rock hard, and the pillows and blanket should really be replaced with more comfortable ones. The arrival was badly organized and the hostess was extremely unfriendly. We’d agreed the key would be left in a specific place, but it wasn’t there. After we called, she took over 20 minutes to arrive and nearly ran over another resident. She didn’t apologize for the driving or the missing key, and greeted us rudely. That attitude continued in the apartment. She mentioned a few things but showed us nothing, so we had to keep asking her for details. Unacceptable, and the hostess is why I’m giving one star.

The balcony has a beautiful view of the Ramsberg, and the apartment is lovely, clean, and has everything you need. Just be aware that the building is right by the street. Traffic gets quite loud when the windows are open or tilted.
