Haus Sunnbichl

It’s a small apartment, but it had everything we needed for a week of skiing. Shops and good restaurants are close by, and the owners are very friendly. Everything was straightforward, and there’s a sauna area with towels available free of charge two days a week. All the Zillertal ski areas are within walking distance, but you should have a car. Walking isn’t recommended. We’d be happy to return, and I’d recommend the apartment.

The view is breathtaking, and the holiday apartment was fantastic, new, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped. The hosts were very friendly. For excursions, try the side valleys of the Gerlos Pass (Gerlo fun ;)). You can rent bikes nearby from Sport Fankhauser in Schwendau and ride the Zillertal Cycle Path. The Zillertal High Alpine Road is another option, with an incredible mountain panorama and the start of many tours. The toll is €8.

The balcony has a lovely view, and the landlady was friendly. Both apartments can use the sauna together on Mondays and Thursdays, up to four people each; on other days, private use costs extra. Everything inside was spotless and tastefully done, with a new kitchen that has all the equipment you need and a ski room with a boot dryer. The apartments look just like their photos on Google and the booking sites. The only downside was the drive to the ski lift, about eight minutes, and the ski bus stop is too far to walk to in ski boots.

We had a really pleasant stay. The apartment had everything we needed, and the lift was under a 15-minute drive away.
