The owners are lovely, and the price is very fair. The cabin is simply and rustically furnished but has everything we need, whether we come as a family or with two couples. Its idyllic setting is at 1,500 meters. We first stayed for skiing 8 years ago, returned for a summer holiday 4 years ago, and plan to ski there again in 2026. The cable car to the ski area and the rental shop are a 5-minute walk away, and we loved the hikes.
Even our dachshund felt comfortable at the hut, despite the changeable weather. The kitchen is very well equipped, so we cooked dinner there a few times. We would have used the terrace and its fantastic view every day if the weather had been better. The owner greeted us in person, showed us the key safe and tiled stove, and left a welcome bottle of schnapps. Changing our arrival by a few days during the off-season was no problem, and we received a friendly welcome from our first inquiry through to departure. We highly recommend the Stabhütte!!! Hiking trails begin right outside this wonderful cabin, a great place to switch off. At 1400 meters, it has everything you need, including electricity, water, and a cozy tiled stove.
The owners should sort out the icy driveway and access path. That cost it a star for me. It's otherwise a rustic alpine hut available to rent.
The location is wonderfully peaceful, high up on the mountain, with hiking trails starting right at the cabin. It's charmingly rustic and has everything you need, and the owner is very friendly. On a nice summer day, grilling on the terrace is a dream.
