These comfortable apartments are part of a working farm. Fit people can walk to the mid-station in five minutes, though the last bit is up a very steep path through the woods; the road route takes 14 minutes. A car is essential since there’s no ski bus, and taxis from Kaltenbach cost 35-40 euros each way. We skied down to the mid-station, left our gear at Ferienwohnung, then took the gondola down for food and après.
We had a fantastic holiday here. The host was friendly, the apartment was nice, and the view over the Zillertal valley was awesome.

Everything worked perfectly, and the place was very clean. We left our ski equipment in the locker at the Dorfbahn, then walked 12 minutes in regular shoes, without carrying any gear. It gave us a lovely sense of freedom, and we didn’t need a car at all during the stay. The bread delivery arrived right on time at 7:15 every morning.
We’ve stayed here three times now, and it’s fantastic. The apartment is lovely, the rooms are wonderful, and everything was spotless. The owners are very welcoming. It’s right by the mid-station, with a beautiful view over the valley. And be sure to stop at the Schistadl at the end of the day!
