Margarethenstein Boutique Hotel

We paid €500 per night for the most expensive suite at Margarethenstein Boutique Hotel & Apartment for our honeymoon, expecting a premium stay. Instead, our experience with management was miserable. The AC wasn’t working when we arrived. I politely messaged the manager, who mocked me and said to “just open the window” because we “didn't need it.” She also said we could leave with no refund if we didn’t like it. I raised the issue with Booking.com, and the AC was turned on shortly afterward. Booking.com offered us monetary compensation for the hotel’s treatment. Just before our last day, the manager learned about the compensation and directly threatened to kick us out immediately unless I rejected it. She knew we were honeymooners traveling with five heavy bags. The hostility, blackmail, and lack of basic hospitality made this an absolute nightmare. Save your money, peace of mind, and special occasion, and avoid this place at all costs.

Petra and her sister were warm and friendly from the first day right through to the end, and their service was the highlight of our stay. The hotel was beautiful and clean, in a perfect location, and our room had an exceptional view. We’ve just checked out and will definitely be back soon. Thank you for everything!

The breakfast was simple, high quality, and had healthy choices like avocado and nuts. They made fresh eggs to order rather than keeping them heated. The room had everything we expected, including the sound of the river, a panoramic view, and a coffee machine. Our mountain-view room was charming and even better than the pictures, with an epic, enchanting view of the mountains. Quality, cleanliness, service, and food were all super perfect, and we felt it was great value for the money. We’ll definitely come back!

Staff throughout the hotel were warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. We also appreciated the complimentary tickets to the top Alpine peak in Kaprun. It was our first time at the Margarethenstein Boutique Hotel in Austria, but we’re already looking forward to returning. The hotel is beautiful, our room had stunning mountain views, and the location worked perfectly for the area’s top attractions. I’d recommend Margarethenstein highly to anyone considering a boutique stay in Austria. It’s a fantastic place to stay in the Kaprun region or Austrian Alps, and one we’ll look forward to enjoying again.
