Hotel Bechlwirt

We went to Bechlwirt for dinner after listening to live music outside the hotel. The food and service were very good, and the prices felt fair, so five stars from me. A very small disappointment: eiswein wasn't available. I'd definitely come back.

This was the worst experience I've had during my three months in Europe. The food was okay, but the waiter was rude and aggressive as soon as we entered. Then he sarcastically mocked us for not leaving a tip, despite his attitude from the beginning. The bad customer service alone is enough reason not to come to this restaurant.

You can watch the fun on the town plaza from the balcony, since the hotel overlooks it. The rooms are quiet, and there's easy off-street parking. Staff were helpful and accommodating, breakfast was good, and we also ate at the restaurant one night. A great hotel in Kirchberg and well worth the stay.

This hotel is right in the heart of Kirchberg, beside the stage on the main plaza. If you're there overnight on a Friday, you might be able to catch the summer show. Here's a little tip: head to the end of the third-floor corridor for the best seats in the house. The lady at the front desk is elegant, fashionable, and a sweetheart with a big heart who'll point you in the right direction. This is the real deal.
