The location is perfect, with the train station opposite and the ski bus a five-minute walk away. Rooms were cleaned very thoroughly every day. It’s an older-style hotel, though, and the sauna and steam room were closed. There was no staff around during the day except at breakfast, and staff spoke very little German, which caused problems at check-in and check-out. Not every room has a TV, and the rooms are relatively small.

The room was tiny and dirty, and it had a musty smell. The bed linen was filthy, while the towels were dark gray, though they must have been white once. The bathroom floor was so gross your shoes stuck to it. The beds were completely worn out, and the balcony was just as dirty.

The staff were friendly, but they spoke little or no German and weren’t always available. It worked well enough for a place to sleep, though it may not be the best choice for a stay. Breakfast wasn’t vegan friendly, mostly cheese, sausage, and yogurt, but some fruit and vegetables could be provided if asked. Check-in was inconvenient at first: despite the big sign advertising 24/7 check-in, we could only get in from 2 pm.

The Traublingerhof is especially popular with Dutch guests. It’s simply furnished and offers little comfort, but for Kirchberg it’s quite inexpensive. Check-in is self-service, credit cards aren’t accepted, and breakfast is okay. It’s fine for an overnight stop if you’ll be out and about the rest of the day.

Everything at the hotel worked, and it was incredibly clean and well maintained. The customer service was outstanding, and the food was first class, about as good as it gets. There are good cycling options in summer, and it’s a good choice for the whole family. Super experience.
