Hotel Seehof

Walchsee is an easy walk from the hotel, and we really enjoyed the pools and the setting. There’s an outdoor pool, plus a heated indoor one that also extends outside. Both my daughters, 10 and 13, had fun at the water park with its big slide and smaller ones. Outside, there are plenty of places to sit, with umbrellas and good loungers. There are also indoor tennis courts, a volleyball court, and a free ten-pin bowling alley. Our junior suite was spacious and clean, with a nice view of the mountains and Lake Walchsee. The only small change I’d suggest is separate beds for the children. They shared a sofa bed, though there seemed to be enough room for two beds. The hotel buildings are on opposite sides of the main road, but guests can cross through a tunnel underneath it. Breakfast was good, and so was dinner, with a decent choice. Dinner service was a little slow. We stayed two nights in August and were happy with our few days here. Good food, lovely pools, and a great location.

Chef Fred was especially helpful with my milk and lactose-free needs, explaining the suitable choices at every meal over the weekend. I got through the whole stay without an allergen incident, and I’m very grateful. I was here recently for a company weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised by what the hotel offers. The spa is fantastic, and there are playrooms for children and adults, along with a library, so there’s plenty to do. The rooms are nice and well equipped, though I did miss having an electric kettle. It’s also close to a lake and mountains, with scenic walks and hikes nearby. Five stars all around!

I only stayed one night after a two-day hike from Kufstein, and wish I’d booked longer. The staff were cheerful, warm, and lovely. Booking was easy, and their messenger service translates to English, which also made arranging transport simple. They offer a shuttle to Kufstein if you don’t have a car. The food was excellent quality, and full board felt well worth it. My room was spacious, and everything was so clean, especially the bathroom, where the surfaces gleamed. There’s a little balcony facing the surrounding mountains. The spa, sauna, and indoor and outdoor pools were great for my sore hiking muscles, and there’s a separate kids’ area. I also spotted an arcade room, table tennis room, and tennis area, though I didn’t use them, and there was more I never got around to exploring. A couple of things to know: most of the signs explaining the spa facilities are in German without English translations, and it’s still around a 1.5-2 km walk to the main town or hiking trail starts. Still, it was a fantastic find, and I hope to come back with family. One night just wasn’t enough.

The surroundings are beautiful and the facilities are good. Dinner could use more variety, hopefully in the future. And since absolutely everything was in German, it was a bit difficult without the language.
