We brought our dog, and the staff welcomed him so warmly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the balcony had such a lovely view. Breakfast was great too, especially the big thermos of fresh filter coffee, which we really enjoyed. A lovely choice if you want a quiet getaway.

Joseph, the hotel owner, was wonderful. He gave us tips on things to do nearby and helped whenever we needed something. He's also a great cook, and we really enjoyed eating and relaxing there. The apartment was superb and the region beautiful. It was very helpful that Joseph speaks English and French so well, as well as German and Austrian.

This is such a peaceful place, and I could never get enough of the area. In summer, you can hike up grand Preber or swim in the cool Prebersee. Schallerwirt rents bikes for exploring the forests, valleys, and mountains. In winter, there’s a nearby ski lift, sledging track, and cross-country trail, or you can choose the sauna and wellness facilities instead. The natural scenery is breathtaking, with amazing views and tidy rooms that smell of wood. The food is as good as it gets in Styria. Folk musicians also gather here to play traditional music. A fantastic place.
