Windhaghof

I really enjoyed my winter break here and would like to come back, hopefully in summer too. It’s a calm spot with beautiful scenery, and our hosts gave us a warm welcome and spoke German or English. The place is ideally situated below the mountains, with walking access to outdoor activities and a car ride to the tourist villages. Buses are available and go near the ski slopes, though we didn’t use them, so I can’t comment on them. It was handy having the flexibility when not everyone wanted to do the same thing. There are hiking trails, icy lakes where you can skate in winter if conditions are safe (ask your host, as it depends on the weather), and places to relax or swim in summer. The ski slopes nearby have different difficulty levels, from beginner to experienced, and there’s plenty of sledging for anyone who prefers something easier. A village known for crystal making is also close by, and impressive to see. It’s a lovely agritourism place where you feel welcome and at home while still having your privacy.

The lake is less than a five-minute walk away, and there are lots of lovely hiking spots nearby. The old town of Rattenberg is lovely too. This is a beautiful farm, and the family make you feel right at home. My family has been coming here for decades, and we always leave completely happy. If you want idyllic peace and quiet, you'll find it here. The apartments are impeccably furnished, and breakfast is prepared with great care.
