We booked two rooms for the family during the busy season and managed to get them side by side. They were large and had modern facilities and amenities. The value was good.

We got a Kufstein card, which gave us free tickets to the castle. Breakfast was good and the location was excellent. We arrived after check-in hours before heading out on a trek in the Kaiser mountains, but they had left clear, easy instructions for checking ourselves in.

The hotel is in a great location, and the employees were friendly and professional. There wasn't really a view, just a concrete wall from the terrace, and the steam room was cold. There was also only one waste basket in the room, in the bathroom.

The room needed more care with cleanliness and detail. There was no welcome water, and we weren't given clear instructions for emergencies or late-night problems, even though reception closes after 10 PM. At checkout, after I raised my complaints, they offered to deduct one breakfast or give us free parking. That felt more insulting than helpful. We stayed at arte Hotel Kufstein from May 30 to June 1, and it was one of my most disappointing hotel stays, especially for a place advertising itself as four-star. They first tried to charge an extra pet fee for two days, even though our reservation clearly said the pet was included in the price. The room was 26°C while it was 30°C outside, and there was no air conditioning, despite it being advertised in every room. Staff admitted management knew the system would only be turned on starting June 2. To me, that's misleading advertising and a failure to meet the promised standard. The staff seemed cold, uninterested, and unhelpful. They brushed off broken shutters they already knew about, dirty floors and windows, and a missing hair dryer without trying to resolve anything. One receptionist said, "Yes, management knows. But we can’t do anything." Breakfast was a disaster: a poor choice, mostly eggs with some cheese and bread, and an unstocked buffet. The staff looked overwhelmed and sweaty, and were snappy and visibly frustrated. For €535 for two nights, including breakfast and parking, I expected basic quality and service, and we didn't get it. We also weren't told about the Kufsteinerland Card, which includes free entry to the Fortress and a chairlift ride. We only heard about it from staff at the fortress. The hotel did give us the card, but only after we explicitly asked, and too late to make much use of it. A hotel in this category should tell guests about a benefit like that proactively. It doesn't live up to its four-star rating or its prices. I absolutely don't recommend it and won't return.
