Hotel Goldene Rose

The Lechtal region has plenty to do, with a great ski area and lovely hiking trails. We tried winter hiking, and it was the most beautiful walk I've ever done. After five nights here, we're really happy with our stay. The dinners were amazing, and the staff were so, so kind. There’s also a nice little sauna area, just right for unwinding after a day of sports. We're looking forward to coming back for summer hiking.

Dinner at the restaurant was really good. We got a free room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise, and the high-season price was fair. The service gets four stars from me because we had to change our breakfast table twice during the stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel has plenty of dedicated parking around the buildings. Between the two connected buildings there's a restaurant and dining hall with beautiful architecture. To reach the old wing, you have to walk through the restaurant. The building with the check-in desk is very new and clean, and presumably its rooms are too. It has an elevator. The old wing feels more dated, and our room there had a slight odd smell. It was satisfactorily maintained, though the furnishings were a little old-fashioned and should still be fine for most people, depending on expectations. Our room was on the larger side, with a large washroom. There was a shared balcony on the second floor, with wooden partitions between the room balconies. The double bed was soft, and there was no fridge. Keep in mind there's no elevator in the old building if your room is on the second floor. It's a nice hotel, depending on what you're expecting.

We pulled in at the Golden Rose at 7pm, after a full day travelling over the Brenner Pass and along the mountain roads. What a nice surprise. Reception were friendly and helpful, and we got to our spotless, spacious room quickly. It had a balcony and great views. The rain shower was awesome, too. We were seated in the dining room within 10 minutes, and the staff there were friendly. The lamb was delicious, much better than we expected. After a really good night's sleep in a comfortable bed, we found lots to choose from at breakfast, including freshly cooked bacon and scrambled eggs. Five stars, Golden Rose. Thank you!
